Dua Lipa the English performer and songwriter, was born in London on 22 August 1995. The singer-songwriter signed to Warner Bros Records in 2014 following her work as a model. She then made her debut self-titled album in the year 2017. The album reached the top 3 spot at the U.K. Charts and produced eight singles. They included Be The One I.D.G.A.F, the U.K. Number One single New Rules as well as the U.K. No. 1 single New Rules. Lipa received the Brit Awards in 2018 as a British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act. The album has been declared platinum across several countries around the world. She is of Bosnian descendance through her maternal grandparents. She can trace her ancestors back to Peja the city of Kosovo. Lipa's grandparents were both historians. Her brother is Gjin Lipa and a sister Rina. Lipa was heavily influenced by music through her father, the guitar player and lead singer of the Kosovan rock group Oda. His father would play music at home, and included songs from David Bowie Bob Dylan Radiohead The Police Stereophonics. Lipa began singing at the age of five. Lipa received a recording contract by Warner Bros. Records in 2014. Her debut single New Love was released in August, 2015.
